Let's get started!!!

After days of reading and research on ebooks and articles about internet marketing, I figure out the basics of how to make money online.
Although I have not started making any penny out from the system which I am testing now, but I hope I will be successful soon.

The whole internet business thingy is not that difficult to understand. Those so-called 'Internet Millionaires' out there claim that this system does not require computer skills, no product, no face-to-face, no direct selling, no inventory stocks, no website etc......

In fact, it is not true. As for what I have learned, you need some computer skills, not just typing skills, but some technical skills are required. For example, you have to write an e-book. It is not just a matter of writing. Instead, you need to know how to decorate, how to setup your hype-links...

You also need a product in order to sell something to buyers. Such products can be e-book that you have wrote, e-books from other authors, or services. When you promote a product which does not belong to you, it is then called 'Affiliate Program'. It means, you do not own the product, however, you are helping a company or a marketer to promote their products. You, as the sales representative, is also known as 'Affiliate'. You need to know what are the products that you want to sell. Clickbank.com is a good one to search for digital products. You need to find products that do offer high commission, say 75%. Your products must be popular for sure. However, a popular product means more affiliates, and it will be a big competition. So, find a product or a niche that you are interested in, and it has good potential in the market. For example, golfing.

No face-to-face selling? Well, you still have to deal with your customers. Although, you don't need to deal with refunds and stuffs like that, but you still need to deal with basic communication. This means that, you have to contact the customers and do some pre-selling to them as a guide to lead them into buying the products which you promote. You can do it through emailing or advertisements placed on search engines such as yahoo, google....etc

No website? Of course you need a website, or else, how can people know what you are selling? You definitely need a website. A website can be a blog, a free website, domain name, or a website that belongs to your affiliate company. When you become an affiliate marketer, you will be given a url link with your ID on it. This url link is considered as your website, although it actually belongs to the company. You need to direct people to the company website through your url link. This is important to ensure the company that you are the one who bring customers to the site. If the customers purchase anything from the company. You will earn the commission of the products. It is easier for you to own a website, because in this way, you can add as many url links as possible. These url links represents different affiliate programs in which you take part in. In other way of saying, if any visitors who visit your website clicks on any links. They will be lead to the website. If they happened to buy something from that website, you earn the commission.

Now, when I say emailing to customers, it means you need to have a list. A list means potential customers who subscribe to your newsletter for offers and information about certain products they are interested in. If you are a beginner, you need to learn how to build a list. A big list guarantee more profits. Let's say, you have 1,000 members in your list. If you want to promote a new product, you can e-mail newsletters or offers to your list members. Out of 1,000 members, you will get at least 10% of them who will purchase the products. So, you can earn the commissions out from the 100 members. That could earn you quite a huge sum of money, if your commission conversion rate is high. Let's say, you earn $36.90 commission from each member, you multiply by 100 members. You can earn $3690 from your commissions.

How can you build your list? First, you need to have a website. You need to add or set up an opt-in form to your website. An opt-in form is a box which requires you to sign up by filling in your First and last name and most importantly, your email address. You need to get the email address of visitors who visit your website so that you can make them come back to your website to check for updates. In other way of saying, you try to retain every 'customer' who visits your 'store'. This is to ensure that they can keep coming back to check our your websites and to help you boost your commissions if they do purchase anything through your url referral link.
In order to be SPAM-free, as most people will not like to receive junk mail in their mailboxes, you need to use an auto-responder mail. An auto-responder mail helps to build and manage your lists. So, every time, when you need to send out message, your auto-responder mail can do that very quickly and efficiently. If there is any purchase being made, such as orderings of ebooks, then you will get to know right way. It also offers subscribe and unsubscribe features. This is so that, if the recipient does not want to receive any information from you, they can simply unsubscribe themselves from the newsletter. This can cause less hassles.

To add opt-in form in your website, you will need to know how to use ready made HTML code. Sometimes, you will be provided the ready made HTML codes, sometimes, you need to customize your own. Although you don't really need to be expert in computer, but you still need to learn for your advantage. I find it hard to do the customized opt-in forms. Opt-in forms need to look attractive and informative so that visitors are willing to subscribe for newsletters to learn more of your products.

Once you have your website ready, and of course that means that you do have a product. Next, you need to drive traffic to your website. If you have good products, but no one knows, your product does not sell, and you won't make any profits out of it. In order to drive traffic to your website, you need to learn how to post advertisements on internet. You also need to know where to post so that guarantees you a big flocks of visitors to your website. You also need to learn how to make your ad more stand out and attractive so that visitors will click on your ad and being lead into your website. There are many ways of driving traffic to your website, such as PPC(Pay-per-click), Google AdWords, Google AdSense, AdBlaster, InstantBuzz, TrafficSwarm etc. For each of the mentioned methods, you will have to learn how to make use of them so that they can help you boost your profits in no time.

Product + List + Traffic = Profits

Is Internet Marketing a No-Brainer???

I am an internet marketing newbie. To be honest, I am skeptical about the whole internet money making system. I read a lot of reviews and reports about the internet marketing. The so-called "Gurus" or "internet millionaires" or "rich jerks" are telling we all that internet marketing is a 'no-brainer' thingy and you can definitely make a big killing from it. How true is that?

I went for a job interview today, and the position offered is 'Education Project Co-ordinator' (Marketing Executive). The Marketing Manager browsed through my resume and claimed that I have no relevant experience in marketing field. That is alright, because he needed to hire someone who is fresh and new and without marketing background at all. I was stunned for a moment and thought why would he wanted to do that. He explained to me that selling is the main thing in this world. You have a product and you need to sell it. But before you sell it, you need to do some pre-sell effort in order to gain trust from your future customers. This is the so-called marketing world and he stressed that marketing is a 'NO-BRAINER' work. You don't need a degree to do the selling, and especially in today's world, you no longer need to 'Talk' in order to sell. This is because there is such thing as 'Internet Marketing'. Therefore, we can spread the words easily by typing, postings and most efficiently by advertising.

All of a sudden, my brain seemed to be unlock and my brain cells were triggered to open up my mind. I had a deep thought about it, and I told myself to give it a try. Since I am very new to this online business, I am willing to motivate myself to start generating extra income. Although, I am not sure if I will become successful like those Internet Millionaires out there or even those who are earning good profits. But I do hope I can be like one of them someday.

What Is This Thing Called Internet Marketing???

Internet marketing, also known as online marketing, is an umbrella term for utilising the internet to market products and services. As is the case with many generic terms, Internet marketing holds different meaning for different people. Even in the area of Internet marketers themselves, there are vastly different perspectives on what actually comprises internet marketing practices.

Broadly speaking, Internet marketing refers to the techniques employed to market a product or service online.

Internet marketing can be a legitimate business practice employed in the commercial sector by companies who'se primary activity may be both online or offline, and undertaken with a view to converting internet users into clients, customers or purchasers. However, to a large extent Internet marketing pertains to a body of online marketers who employ strategies focused on driving we internet users (referred to as traffic) to their own or an associated web presence, where we are then encouraged to purchase the marketers product or service. There is an increasing trend towards offering electronic or information products (eBooks) or like material. To many, Internet marketing looms as an attractive but often elusive opportunity to make money.

Information products or eBooks are frequently the more circuitous route by which people become exposed to the concept of Internet marketing. A search for the more generic terms by which Internet marketing may be referred, such as "home based business" or "make money online", reveals a plethora (some 100,000,000) of results inviting us to become part of the online marketing revolution, and take our slice of the preverbial income pie. Catch phrases guarantee we can make money with little or no effort, in no time, and at no cost (apart from, of course, the small cost of the information product being offered).

There are some brilliant products and services out there, but from the perspective of those of us looking to Internet marketing as a genuine source of income, many online ventures are best left alone until we have a good grasp on the mechanics behind the glitz, glam and guarantees with which Internet marketing is so readily associated. The resounding reality is that many of the would be methods on offer provide little real prospect of generating a financial return, and are frequently guaranteed to do little more than drain our wallets.

That being said, there are legitimate and workable means by which we can make money online. The sheer weight of numbers advocating Internet marketing for that very reason is of itself a form of mutated truth, and to that extent the problem speaks to the solution. What we as marketers ought aim to do though, is to arm ourselves with the knowledge necessary to put in place those legitimate means, and provide something of value to our online prospects.

However, that is history now. All you need to know is what a particular chunk of code does. If you know what five different chunks do individually and you know how to juxtapose them; viola you have created your very own website.

Websites For Business

In today's business world you must create a website. Customers will look to Internet for a product or service that they need, but also for a website that makes them feel they are dealing with professionals. One of the most important things to keep in mind is that a well maintained website will show the customer how reliable you are.

A companion website for a traditional walk-in store is a great way to prime your customers by introducing them to what you have to offer before they visit you in person. Many potential customers who are undecided as to whether or not they'd like to visit your store will check to see if you have a website first. Seeing the item they want on their screen will prompt them to visit your physical location. This is an upside to having a website that not many people think about, but it is a great way to pique the interest of people who will visit (and return to) your store.

To create a website is to expand your customer base thousands and thousands of miles. Whereas your original clientele lived mere miles from you, having your business available to anyone around the world makes your business potential customer base infinite. This can be made even more profitable if you can find a way to implement your business to be accessible online.

Internet store retailers offer items for sale on their websites that customers may purchase. Likewise, persons who own a service-based company must identify a means of advertising services in their local area. Obviously some services can only be done within an identifiable range of distance. An accountant, however, can complete another person's taxes from anywhere in the world.

Don't be cheap when making your website. Internet surfers will be able to see any lack of professionalism or that you cut costs. Use professional software to create a website. Another option is to hire a company to make sure it is done correctly.

The most important step to create a website is to determine whether or not it can be profitable to you in of itself. Which route are you going to take? The two possible routes, as mentioned above, are to merely advertise your service or store online showing all the possible products to pique the interest of potential customers. The other is to actually supplement your business by allowing customers to use or purchase it online. The latter choice obviously is the more profitable one, but you need to choose whichever is right for you.

Step # 6) Get On Internet Directories Lots of internet directories catalog businesses by category and locality. Request acceptance in the directories so that your site will be not so difficult for people to locate.

Step # 7) Make Your Site Simple to Navigate If the organization of your site is all chaotic and visitors find it difficult to find the information they're trying to find then they could just click away. If you need additional online traffic, you have to keep people on the site. If people can't understand the layout of the site itself, they could locate their information elsewhere.

Tips For Choosing A Domain Name

Things to keep in mind when selecting your domain name:

Tip ONE - Stay with the dot com extension as opposed to .biz .net .us or any others. Most people are familiar with .com and if per chance they are trying to recall it, they are 10 times more likely to type in .com than any other extension....and if someone else already got the .com extension compared to your .net , .biz or whatever extension you chose, you may potential lose customers. Now granted, dot com domain names are getting more difficult to get, but with some creativity and some of the additional hints below, you should be on your way to choosing a successful one.

Tip TWO - Think about the keywords of the site you are creating. What is the most prominent words of your product or site and focus on developing a name around those keywords. Case in point - my site WorkFromHomeBusinessReport.com. Notice the keywords that I utilized in the domain name: "work from home", "business" and "report". Keyword rich name. Notice the keywords that I used. These are keywords that people would use when typing in a search in Google or Yahoo or any other search engine of choice. So, the end result is that by having those key words in my domain name will help in search engine rankings as those keywords will rank high in the search since it is in the url (important note: this will only help if your content is relevant to the key words being used as the search engine algorithms will look at the relevancy and weight of keywords to the search term). Great news is that most of your name registration web sites offer some type of suggestion tool if the one you typed in is already taken.

Tip THREE - Reserve the your selection for longer than one year. Why? Once again Google and the other search engine look favorably upon a registration that is more than just the standard 1 year. What that says to them, is that you are not just a "here today, gone tomorrow" website, so by reserving a name for 2 or more years, it says that you may potentially be around for a while. This once again this ultimately helps in your search engine rankings. Also, with the price of reserving a domain name today, this won't break the bank.

Tip FOUR - DON'T pay more than $15.00 for a name. Yes, believe it or not there are still registration sites that still charge as much as $35.00 for a 1 year registration! Don't be fooled into paying more than $15.00....and in some cases you can even get one for FREE when you sign up for hosting and such. Also look for well established registration services like those below. Go Daddy even offers names $1.99 with a purchase of any non domain name product.Well, there you have it. Some food for thought to get you started on working from home and creating a "name" for yourself and for your web site.

What Is Paid Surveys???

A paid survey is a type of online statistical survey where the participant is rewarded through an incentive program. A paid survey is used to collect quantitative information about the participant’s personal and economic habits. Often used by marketing firms to test new advertisements, they offer the participant a cash reward or entry into a sweepstakes program.Legitimate paid surveys exist because, in order to remain competitive in their given markets, companies need a better understanding of their customers and the customers' perception of products. Surveys that are legitimate are separated by personal demographics so that the data will better apply to the target audience the marketing firm is trying to reach.Because the corporate marketing companies need to understand consumer perceptions in-depth, they will offer incentives to survey participants. A participant will never have to pay for a legitimate paid survey. What are online paid surveys? There are thousands of people selling a vast number of different products online on how to make money from the internet, taking simple surveys online is I think possibly the easiest way to earn a good amount of money from your PC.The main thing to remember about any type of money making idea you've found on the web is that you're not going to be a millionaire over night whatever the advert tells you. I like to think that at least with online surveys you know you're earning with every survey you fill.Companies pay big money for market research and a way to find out what people want is to use the internet to ask for our opinions, there are a lot of websites who try to gather the information on their behalf and a way of obtaining your views is by paying for individuals to take surveys.I have been filling out online surveys for a few years now and you find many sites that turn out to be a complete waste of time and effort, however on the other hand there are plenty of legit sites that are more than happy to pay you well for completing their online research. There are sites I've found who send vouchers as well as money and to be honest when you're receiving as much as £75.00 in Amazon.co.uk vouchers for 10 minutes reading. You find yourself filling surveys in for all sorts of different companies, one minute you'll be reviewing the latest McVitie's TV advert and the next e-mail you receive could be asking you about your last holiday experience. You never know what you're going to be asked next. The rewards as I said earlier are not always cash, they can be vouchers or a point's scheme. You can of course choose which survey sites to go with and you'll find all specify what there rewards are and how you receive them, some sites send you cheques in the post where others require you have a Paypal account for them to send payments via electronic transfer. Point's schemes are similar to Nectar and Clubcard points where you can exchange your saved points for items from their lists. I personally don't go for the point's schemes as I like t see the money and vouchers at the end of the month. Payments are sent out either at the end of the month or after you've reached a certain amount or level where you can withdraw when you choose.Don't under any circumstances pay to become a member of a site which will send you surveys to fill out, this is a con. You should never have to pay to get paid. How to get startedThe first thing to do is open a separate E-mail account just for the incoming surveys, this will also be the address you should use when registering with online survey sites. Believe me when you receive the number of surveys I do each day you don't want anything else to get mixed up in the middle of them.Next you want to compile a list of sites you want to register with, be careful at this stage not to register with just anyone or you're E-mail box will be completely full of worthless nonsense. I have put together a small list of the sites I personally use, Join all of these to start you off and you'll be surprised just how many surveys you are sent. Don't expect thousands in the first day or so but after you've filled a couple in they will start flowing to your mail box.Take time to research different websites before registering visit paid survey forums and find out about the best places to enroll with. There are quite a few forums out there and they are a good source of information where you can chat to others with the same goal.Register with the websites which interest you, and remember try and be fairly honest as the surveys sent to you will in most cases depend on your interests, hobbies, career, etc... Remember to write down all the site names and your personal username and password for each account, you don't want to have lots of money sitting in someone else's account when it could be in yours. After you've registered with ten companies or so sit back and wait to see what comes through to your e-mail, once you get to know the different companies you'll be able to tell which e-mails to prioritize and the layout of their surveys. Try not to over load yourself with hundreds of e-mails, check your in-box as much as possible and complete as many surveys as you can. When you've got the hang of completing these surveys why not have a go at the online discussions or even the telephone interviews, this is where you can make a really good amount of money some companies pay over £50.00 per hour just to chat with you on the phone. Remember not to give your personal details out unless you are completely sure of who you're giving it to and what they intend to do with the information. Finally good luck, I hope you enjoy sharing your opinions and earning that extra money you've been looking for. What is an affiliate marketing? Affiliate marketing is a web-based marketing practice in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought about by the affiliate's marketing efforts.Affiliate marketing is also the name of the industry where a number of different types of companies and individuals are performing this form of internet marketing, including affiliate networks, affiliate management companies and in-house affiliate managers, specialized 3rd party vendors, and various types of affiliates/publishers who promote the products and services of their partners.Affiliate marketing overlaps with other internet marketing methods to some degree, because affiliates often use regular advertising methods. Those methods include organic search engine optimization, paid search engine marketing, email marketing and in some sense display advertising. On the other hand, affiliates sometimes use less orthodox techniques like publishing reviews of products or services offered by a partner.Affiliate marketing using one site to drive traffic to another is a form of online marketing, which is frequently overlooked by advertisers. While search engines, e-mail and RSS capture much of the attention of online retailers, affiliate marketing carries a much lower profile. Still, affiliates continue to play a significant role in e-retailers'Getting Started with Affiliate MarketingIf you are looking to get started with an online business, then Affiliate Marketing may be your answer. Affiliate Marketing is a legitimate business and as some would have you believe, should never be considered as a get rich quick scheme. The basic premise behind Affiliate Marketing is you market or advertise a product for a company or person in return for a commission on the end sale.To find products to market is relatively easy there are basically two options that you have. You can either join a company's affiliate program direct or you can join an Affiliate Network. A company like Amazon have there own affiliate program that you can join direct. However, an affiliate network will act as a broker between a company and an affiliate marketer. Joining an affiliate network is usually free and will give you access to many different company's selling many different products. Be aware though, any affiliate network that charges you to join should be considered suspect and is probably a scam. Performing a search for affiliate networks on a search engine should give you a number of networks to try.Once you have joined an affiliate scheme or network, it's then up to you to market and advertise the company's/products that you have selected. There are many articles and websites available that will give you advice on how to market products successfully.

What is Pay-Per-Click Advertising???

Pay-Per-Click advertising, also known as Search Engine Marketing, is an expanding and exciting medium for connecting Internet consumers with your products and services is search engine advertising, also commonly referred to as Pay-Per-Click (PPC) advertising. One of the fastest growing areas of online advertising, search engines provide an easy and convenient method for online shoppers to research, locate, and purchase the products they are looking for. This presents an opportunity for advertisers of all sizes to display highly targeted advertisements when users are searching for the products they offer.Pay-Per-Click (PPC) advertising is simply one of the most cost effective ways to advertise online, because the advertiser decides what specific keyword searches that the advertisement is displayed. Unlike other online advertising methods, PPC advertising provides instant results at affordable rates. As a PPC advertiser, one can easily build, customize, and manage their search campaigns, as well as closely monitor its performance. Typically, PPC advertisers measure their performance based on a combination metrics, such as conversion rate, Return-On-Ad-Spend (ROAS), Cost-Per-Acquisition (CPA), Cost-Per-Lead (CPL), or Click-Through-Rate (CTR). Another benefit of PPC is that it continues to evolve, and advertisers can evolve with it, testing new branding and messaging efforts in real time.Understanding and using Pay-Per-Click advertising is an important step to promoting a product or service, and is something that every online marketer should be considering. There are three main elements to a successful PPC ad program: Constant monitoring, analysis, and fine-tuning.Pay per click search engines offer a way to buy your way to the top of search results for any term you wish. With proper management, and a clear focus, pay per click search engines can offer some of the most well targeted and economical advertising on the Internet.Pay per click advertising works through a bidding process, and the ads appear prominently on the results pages of search engines such as Google and Yahoo. The highest bidder for a particular word or phrase receives top placement, and depending on the search engine.Pay per click (PPC) is an advertising model used on search engines, advertising networks, and content websites/blogs, where advertisers only pay when a user actually clicks on an ad to visit the advertiser's website. Advertisers bid on keywords they predict their target market will use as search terms when they are looking for a product or service. When a user types a keyword query matching the advertiser's keyword list, or views a page with relevant content, the advertiser's ad may be shown. These ads are called a "Sponsored link" or "sponsored ads" and appear next to or above the "natural" or organic results on search engine results pages, or anywhere a webmaster/blogger chooses on a content page.Pay per click ads may also appear on content network websites. In this case, ad networks such as Google AdSense and Yahoo! Publisher Network attempt to provide ads that are relevant to the content of the page where they appear, and no search function is involved. While many companies exist in this space, Google AdWords, Yahoo! Search Marketing, and Microsoft adCenter are the largest network operators as of 2007. Depending on the search engine, minimum prices per click start at US$0.01 (up to US$0.50), these prices are often referred to as Costs Per Click (CPC). Very popular search terms can cost much more on popular engines. Arguably this advertising model may be open to abuse through click fraud, although Google and other search engines have implemented automated systems to guard against this.

[1]CategoriesPPC engines can be categorized into two major categories "Keyword" or sponsored match and "Content Match". Sponsored match displays your listing on the search engine itself whereas content match features ads on publisher sites and in newsletters and emails.

[2]There are other types of PPC engines that deal with Products and/or services. Search engine companies may fall into more than one category. More models are continually evolving. Pay per click programs do not generate any revenue solely from traffic for sites that display the ads. Revenue is generated only when a user clicks on the ad itself.

What Is Online Banner Advertising???

Banner ads are text and pictures that are placed on high traffic web sites. When you click on a banner ad, it sends you to the advertised web site. They are largely anchoring or branding devices just like a jingle on a radio- when you hear the jingle over and over; you eventually develop awareness of the business or its product. Most banner ads are generally not designed to generate immediate click-through but to be an awareness and anchoring device. Instead of placing a traditional focus on the demographics (gender, age, income etc.), banner ads let you narrow and hence intensify your target audience to people who have an acute intellectual interest in your product. It is a form of Psychographic Internet marketing when you promote your website with a banner ad on a high-traffic website that has content related to the product or service you sell. For instance, if you sell car parts, you would want to run banner ads on high-traffic sites where people browse to know about automobiles because they are likely to have an interest in your products and hence visit our site. A common banner ad package might consist of 100,000 impressions. CPM (cost per thousand) can be from $20 to $100 per thousand impressions. Ad placement significantly effects the response rates. A home page may get the most traffic, but placing an ad deeper within the site might provide a more targeted audience. Here are some tips that will be useful when designing banner ads: There are retail software stores that offer inexpensive software packages dedicated solely to banner creation. You can also download banner ad design shareware from the Internet. When designing banners, keep them between 5 and 20K. The faster your banner loads, the more likely it will be seen. Animated banners are more effective than static banners at generating click-through. You should use ALT attribute in the image tags of your banners since many people surf with images turned off. The ALT attribute will describe the content of the banner and can bring people to your site, even if they cannot see the image. There should be a balance between being too creative and not-creative-enough. Using prompt phrases like, "Click here!" or "Find out more!" and eye-popping graphics makes the banner more appealing. Do measure the success of your banner ad campaign by checking your log files for click through rates from your banner(s). Adjust your campaign when and where necessary- change placements, rework the content banners or images. Online Banner Advertising is an art that once perfected will definitely give your business that extra edge and you will thereby generate revenues from a different advertising source along with your traditional ways of advertising.

What Is Called Internet Marketing?

Internet marketing, also known as online marketing, is an umbrella term for utilising the internet to market products and services. As is the case with many generic terms, Internet marketing holds different meaning for different people. Even in the area of Internet marketers themselves, there are vastly different perspectives on what actually comprises internet marketing practices.Broadly speaking, Internet marketing refers to the techniques employed to market a product or service online. To many, Internet marketing looms as an attractive but often elusive opportunity to make money.Information products or eBooks are frequently the more circuitous route by which people become exposed to the concept of Internet marketing.

Online Home Based Business

People in droves are looking to the Internet to either learn how to start their own Home Based Business or they have done the math and have realized how lucrative it is and want to start today. One can see this by the words searched for on a daily basis such as online home based business, top home based business, income opportunity home based business, home Internet based business opportunity, work at home based business opportunity, home based mlm business opportunity, free home based business and home Internet based business opportunity. This just a few of the thousands of searches made daily. The Internet is a perfect choice for achieving their business goals, because there is no better way to reach millions of people on a regular basis. Currently the Internet is not taxed in any way and lets hope it stays that way for a long time. In addition the startup cost is minimal for an online web based company. Nowhere else could you get a business going that cost so little and reach so many people. The American Dream is being lived by many people in many countries because of this. My suggestion is to either use a website like mine, but not necessarily mine, that has researched and eliminated the companies that will only waste both time and money or spend many hours doing the research yourself. I cannot tell you how important the research is. While I and others offer many different types of home based business and work at home opportunities I am focusing today on a Online Web Site Business. Once you have selected a home-based business that you wish to start you will need to look at the following areas: 1. Web Site development (If you are going to have an online website)2. Companies and products that you will offer on your site.3. Marketing your website (Getting people to visit to your site).4. Monitoring and revising your site on a real time basis. Today I am going to focus on real time changes that need to be made on your website. Some of you may have the necessary skill set required to develop & maintain, market and modify an online web site I did not. When reviewing and selecting companies that you wish to partner with, you will need to evaluate the following areas.

1. What Countries will the particular company offer product and services to?

2. How often do they update companies that they deal with? Many times the companies you deal with will serve as a middleman for many offers.

3. What type of refund process do they have in place for you visitors?

4. What types of guarantee, if any, will they offer you visitors?

These are just a few of the areas that need to be considered, but you can see that if you can get a company (middleman) that has offers Internationally it will serve you best and minimize you efforts on a weekly basis. Either way it does not take much time. There are not that many changes especially if you do like I did and not reinvent the wheel. I followed a success proven system, whereby all of this was pretty much figured out for me. Please feel free to read more of this article by visiting my link in the resource box below. I always enjoy getting emails pertaining to my articles or my site. Your feedback is important to me.

The reach is unprecedented in the history of marketing and more people are getting e-mail accounts every day. Another advantage of marketing with email is that replies and responses can start being seen almost instantly, allowing businesses to rapidly evaluate the success or failure of an email marketing campaign. Email marketing covers a very broad scope of topics, but in general is used to refer to such things as opt-in lists, newsletter marketing and marketing via bulk emails. Of these three it is bulk e-mail marketing which has caused the most controversy, and is the least successful in general. People tend to delete these emails without reading them as they are unsolicited and usually have a hard sell of a product. In fact, people have come to see bulk unsolicited email as a very shady practice and the products are by association (and usually in fact) considered to be of dubious quality or legality as well. Opt In lists and newsletters however are very effective ways for businesses to promote their products. In both cases the recipients have actually requested the information they are receiving, so they are a far more receptive audience. Once a marketer has acquired an interested potential customer base it becomes a very important task to keep the list interested and satisfied. This is most effectively done by providing what the subscriber was seeking when they signed up to the list and showing that you care about their needs. A successful Email marketer will build up a relationship with his subscriber and have them looking forward to each new email. This is a far better policy than hard selling products to your list until they buy or unsubscribe. With a successful trust relationship a subscriber may buy from you again and again. It is not an easy task to build that caliber of relationship with your subscriber, but there are a few tips which help smooth the road. The email starts with the subject line. This may be the only thing the reader ever sees. You need a subject line that grabs the attention of the reader and makes them want to see what you have to say in the email itself. The email then needs to go on to offer real value to the subscriber. Dishing out the same old thing that the subscriber has seen over and over will just lead to them leaving your emails sitting unread. Quality content is best delivered in a tips and tricks format that provides easy to implement assistance to help them with their problems. The letter is a business newsletter, so while a little personality helps separate you from the crowd, you need to maintain a degree of formality to establish yourself as a serious business rather than a slap-dash individual out to make a few quick dollars. Finally, you should encourage feedback in some form from your subscribers. It's nice to know when you emails are actually being read, and seeing responses come in can not only confirm this, but can provide you with subject matter or ideas for future mail-outs. As with everything online, and in marketing in general, the style and content of your campaign is going to differ from market to market, so it's important that you try many different things and see what works for your business. Thanks for your time and interest in our article. I hope you found some value in this brief article on "How Email Marketing Can Make You Money".

Make Income Online By Blogging - How To Get Started

Explore the many ways to make money online by blogging with or without a blog, get paid to write reviews of products and services, and earn extra cash by writing articles, content and blogging for Google AdSense blog networks.

1. An overview on paid blogging There are 3 main flavours of paid blogging - your own blog on your own domain and webhost, using a blog on a free blog service such as Blogger and creating a blog on a blog network. The work is the same. You get paid to write or blog about a product, service or anything required by a customer. The amount paid varies greatly from US$1 to US$200 or more for about 50 to 200 words depending on advertiser requirement. The more popular or higher traffic your blog has, the greater your reach and therefore the higher you are paid. Terms vary in that you may be asked to write a single post from time to time or you may be contracted to blog a minimum of 1 post a day for a few weeks for a specified sum.

2. Blog requirements Usually, there are certain requirements that your blog will have to meet before being accepted for assignments. Requirements vary with each paid-to-blog network. Generally though, paid-to-blog networks do not accept new blogs with little content and no readership base, so you will need to spend the first few weeks or months writing posts regularly to build up a sizeable amount of content. You could buy articles or use free articles from various sources of course, but ultimately you will have to write your own unique content to keep readers coming back. It’s a lot of hard work. Other requirements could be that your blog has to be several months old, be indexed by Google, be of a certain pagerank or have a certain amount of traffic. Blog content and writing standard also affect approval. If you do not own a blog, you may be asked to provide some writing samples for evaluation.

3. Using a free blog on a blogging service Creating a free blog on Blogger, Live Journal, Wordpress and other free blogging services is how most bloggers will start off. These sites are fine for personal blogs but if you have plans to monetize your blog and use it as a means to provide some form of viable revenue, it is best to register your own domain and host your own blog on a web host. This is because you will have complete control over how you want to monetize your blog and have your own entity and identity eg. yourblog.com instead of yourblog.blogspot.com. Also, some paid-to-blog networks do not accept blogs created on a free blogging service.

4. Creating a blog on a blog network If you do not own a blog, you can still earn from blogging. Some blog networks require you to create a blog hosted on their network with their revenue earned directly from advertisers, syndication or other means. Sites: Blogchex, Gather, DigitalJournal. Other blog networks engage you as their freelance professional blogger where you have to commit to making regular posts. In such cases, the content you create could belong to the blog network and you will not be able to use your content anywhere else. These have very high journalistic standards and are difficult to get accepted. Sites: 451press, Blog Republic, Weblogsinc.

5. Posting on Google AdSense blog networks Other blog networks who use Google’s AdSense programme to generate revenue are less restrictive in terms of topics to write about and tend to be less demanding when it comes to content quality and the reuse of content at other sites. Bloggers are paid by Google AdSense from the number of clicks received on ads embedded in their posts. Therefore you must first sign up for Google’s AdSense programme before joining these blog networks. You also get paid for referrals. Payouts may seem too little to bother with but if you are active in many networks, the amounts add up. Sites: WriteNiche, WritingUp, Hubpages, Squidoo, Xoomba.

6. Setting up your own blog on your own domain Buying your own domain costs about US$8 a year while buying a basic hosting plan costs from about US$5 a month. Choose a reliable web host which has a good uptime track record and customer service is important. You may have to be prepared to spend a little more to ensure some reasonable level of quality hosting. Visiting a web host’s forum where members discuss the web host’s service will give you a good idea of its reliability but since most have a 30-day money-back guarantee, signing up to try would probably be the best way to go. After building up a fair amount of quality content, you can apply to join professional blog networks if your blog meets the high standards of these sites: Blogburst, B5media, Orble, Webbleyou.net

7. Paid reviews Some blog networks will assign offers to you from time to time and all you have to do is blog about the product or service and provide links as required on your blog. Other options of monetizing your blog may also be given such as placing banners and buttons or text links on your blog. Sites: PayPerPost, Blogsvertise, LoudLaunch, CreamAid. Other blog networks provide a common platform to let advertisers select the blog they want to buy advertising space, links or pay for a review from the list of registered blogs. Sites: ReviewMe, ReverseLinks, Buzzbyblog, InBlogads, SponsoredReviews.

8. Variations of paid blogging There are several offshoots of paid blogging which instead of writing about a product or service, you get paid for your knowledge on certain topics and for providing answers to questions asked by other members in the community. Topics range from business to automobiles to health. You will be evaluated by a test before being accepted but earnings could be substantially higher than regular blogging. Site: JustAnswer. You can also earn by providing a writing service such as academic papers and resumes, or writing content for end users such as websites, magazines and newsletters. These pay more than the usual paid blogging and is the the way to go if you have the skills. Sites: Constant-Content, CyberEdit, Academia-Research, Manuscriptservices.co.uk, AssociatedContent only accepts US residents.

9. Blogging for companies Businesses recognise the blog revolution and even large corporations have set up blogs. Many look to freelance professional bloggers for their blog. Software development companies may require bloggers for gadgets and tech-related topics. A lifestyle magazine may require bloggers to write about the night scene in their city or updates on celebrity gossip. The scope is restricted only by your ability and time. Sites: Bloggerjobs.biz, Jobs.problogger.net, Elance.com

10. Blogging for individualsThere are people who need help blogging or who want to build up unique content the fastest way possible and so recruit a few people to contribute posts. The amount to be paid is entirely by mutual agreement and you possibly run a certain risk of not getting paid for your work.

What is an Affiliate Marketing???

Adwords Tips And Tricks

Google Ad Words ? a wonderful and cost effective way to advertise has great flexibility on the part of the advertiser, he/she can make it running in minutes and can change ads whenever feels doing it after tracking the response of the visitors and the conversion rate. However testing keywords and ads to improve the conversion rate is a never ending process and one has to be very selective and alert in choosing the right 'keywords'. You can be running an ad campaign at Google in minutes! Well to make your ad word campaign successful and worth spending I present some keen facts and suggestions to be considered while developing ad word advertisements.Always be very specific: You should be very specific while choosing your keywords in the ads because being general in advertisements will bring traffic to your site but not many actual buyers in other words the conversion rate will be very less or your return on investment will be less.Use square brackets: Use square brackets "[ ]" around your keywords that you want to target the most because by doing this your ads will be shown only when searches are made that match your keywords or phrases bracketed exactly. For example [search engine optimization], [SEO pages]Now in this case the ad will be displayed only if searches are made of exact words 'search engine optimization' or 'seo pages' and you will get only the desired traffic to your site.Link to exact pages: Always link to correct pages for example if you are advertising a particular product then link to the page in particular that is selling that product and not to the site's homepage. User will never like much browsing and will ultimately leave for your competitor if isn't able to find the desired information. So link to particular pages.Offer immediate benefits: Offer the benefits that your product will give the consumer because many times users are looking for those benefits and will be induced to your site. For example learn free, earn at home, become an expert, lose weight etc. Try to include such benefits in the ads and see the results soar.Make multiple ads: Always make two or more copies of ads as you might not know what might click up, constantly monitor your ads and see which one is gaining pace and remove or change the lesser responsive ad. This is an ever going process to reach the maximum potential customers and will go on and on.Record the ROI: Record the return on investment of each ad to keep your expenses in your pre decided budget and update or change low ROT ads simultaneously. ROI is the base for which you are planning ads and it should not be under looked. Google offers the stats free for the ad words, hence you can use it and calculate the ROI and act accordingly.Use provoking words: Use provoking words that instantiate action of the user like free, free shipping, special offer, limited time offer, tips, tricks etc. These types of words actually attract the users but make sure that the words are specific to your business otherwise they can be removed by Google. Include Price Quotes: A wise and proven selling technique is to give a hot price and that's what works in ad words too. If you are featuring a particular product on your site then you must mention its price in your ad and I assure that you will get much targeted customers to your site. This will benefit the other way too that is some free finders will be kept away from your ad and you can save another valuable click which in return meet your budget limits. Your main target is potential customers and not everybody and this way you can head towards your goal.Avoid double meaning words: There are words and phrases that mean completely different things depending on the target audience you're trying to reach. These words should be avoided. Be sure and examine your keyword list for any words that could take on a different meaning than what makes sense for your business. The best way to figure this out on your own is to simply do searches at the major search engines for each of your keywords, and see who else is in the result set with you. Then end up finally selecting the keywords that fit your purpose and relevance for the campaign.Your goal to use Ad Words is to increase ROI, not to increase your traffic. It's more valuable to you, as an advertiser to receive only 10 new visitors in a month if they're all qualified and likely buyers, than it is to pay for 1,000 visitors a month that found you by mistake. You can achieve it by targeting at the right audience and selective very specific keywords and constant monitoring.

Google Adsense Tips and Tricks

Every single website and its owner have the opportunity to make some great money by displaying Google Adsense ads on it. Although many webmasters are making a nice income with these ads, many aren't. Many people say that all you have to do is put up a website and you'll be making over $100 a day with Google Adsense. It does sound simple and it is, but you will need to optimize your site so that you do generate more and more clicks on the ads that are sitting on your site. The first thing that you need to do is to Place the Google Adsense ads in the right spot of the page. This will determine how much money you will make each day. It is very important that you place the ad at the top of the page (above the fold) on your website in order to get the most clicks. What this really means is that you will want to place the Adsense code that Google gives you high enough on the page so that your visitors do not have to scroll down to see the Google ads. If you choose to have the ads right at the top above everything else then do that. By placing the Google Adsense ads at the top of your website above the fold, there is a greater chance that people will click on the ad, which will help your site generate a higher click through rate also known as CTR. The reason for this is because the majority of your visitors will not scroll down the page and look at it. A lot of the time, people look over the top part of the page without worrying about scrolling down. The way you blend the ads with the rest of your page can determine if the ad is visually appealing or not. It is very crucial to make the Google Adsense ads look like your site and not another ad. You can do this by making the font and color of the ad's text similar to the rest of the page. I also recommend that you blend the background of the ad with the background of your page. It should basically have the same color. Google gives you the option to go into your account and customize your ads in different fonts and colors. This will help you blend the ads to your site. Make sure that you don't use the banner ads on your site because this will decrease your click through rate. People who visit your website usually try to avoid any banner and picture ads that they see. If you want to increase your click through rate, you will want to add text ads. Google gives you that option so use it. Here are some other small tips to increase your Adsense income: 1. Google has confirmed that using the 336x280 rectangle ad block size does have the highest click through rate. Using this ad size will increase your click through rate and the income that you generate. 2. Using a blue underline for the links can also improve your click through rate. This allows the ads to actually stand out and look clickable. If you follow the advice given above, you can improve your CTR and make more money with Google Adsense.

Google Arbitrage-how does it works???

This principle “buy low, sell high” is translation named for arbitrage. And the “Adsense Arbitrage” (also known as “Google Arbitrage” or “click Arbitrage”) is a realization of this principle in the field of AdWords and Adsense programs.

How does it work? First, one builds to webpage (arbitrage page) that contains keywords that plows competitive and highly paid for by Adsense, but usually does not include (or almost does not include) any information (AT least, nothing valuable). Under such to page consists of nothing but links to contextual ads from AdSense. Second, the person you please an ad in AdWords with to Link to that page and for sets I.A.D.B. prices his keywords (that plows usually irrelevant to the page content) at the lowest level: $0.01-0.05. Thus the Advertiser drives cheap traffic to his page in hopes that to surfer, that sees only the links, will click on some. And because of the I.A.D.B. gap there am expects to get substantial profit. Indeed, this “click arbitrage” tactics brought its users tons of money. Not by chance, the authors of books teaching “the method secrets” promise: “Money in 15 Minutes”, “Gold-Filled 24-hour Online ATM”… But something happened: recently Google there are updated its “landing page quality” scoring algorithm. The algorithm itself is to “know-how” of Google, but because of it, the Cost Per Click (the for minimum amount to be paid an ad display) for ads that Link to low-quality arbitrage pages leaped to $5-10. Impossible This makes it almost to profit from this method. And to lot of “Adsense Arbitrage” players start to loose money. They do not welcome the changes. There is much talk going on about “Google craziness”, “Google shooting itself in the leg” etc. Under, is the method of “Adsense Arbitrage” going to die? Certainly not. Essentially, substantial Google wishes to see its ads on pages that “provide relevant and content”. Under there to plows ways return to the previous level of CPC. One option is to rewrite the existing pages according to Google’s guidelines, say, by adding relevant content. Another option is to test to other cheap traffic sources instead of AdWords, such pay to per click engines ace Yahoo and MSN.

And recenly i’ve seen a video of shoemoney telling the facts about this G’ Arbitrage. Check this out

In fact, you can place these blocks of advertisement of Adsense on your site of the day one. It was a blessing and a curse for advertisers and Google Adwords. To the top of until last year, much from editors of Adsense could benefit from the program of Adsense in Just a few days of a new Web site. The programmers of Savvy appeared outside in the manners of deceiving search engines in placing their Web pages on the first page of several their Web pages aimed by key word by using the tactics sneaky, and the software. For this reason, Google created many changes in the way in which their Search Engine arranges as well as a Web site in their program of Adsense. Today it is essential that each editor of Adsense includes/understands the limits of Google of the service concerning what is and is not accepted. The reason for which it is so essential is because if an editor does not follow the rules, they will find their Web sites to obtain class by the Search Engine of Google’ s and what is worse, they can even lose their account of editor. One of the problems with arrangement the limits of the service in any program or for any Web site is the fact that they are incredibly long and survey. The majority of the people will agree simply on the limits of the service without the lira never. If you precisely prove to be one of these people, here three of the most essential points within the limits of Adsense of the service which should follow to you. To obey the limits of Google of the service One allows editors to include a maximum of three units of advertisement per Web page. There is a variety of choice concerning the blocks of Adsense. Google makes it possible editors to choose several of the same type of blocks of Adsense, however, only one maximum of three blocks by the page. There are also units of bond which are considered separated from the blocks of Adsense. An additional unit of bond can be added to the Web page with the three other blocks of Adsense. And to finish, the editors can add to two boxes of search for Adsense on any Web page. The boxes of research are not considered part of the units of bond or blocks of Adsense. Thus, completely you can have as much like 3 blocks of Adsense, 1 unit of bond and 2 boxes of research on an any Web page. Where blocks of Adsense cannot be placed Google will not make it possible editors to place blocks of Adsense on no Web page which is not-contents based. This of the means if your Web page does not contain any relative contents, one is not allowed not to place any block of Adsense on the page. In addition to this Google ADS which the Web page cannot be created for the single goal to show blocks of Adsense. It is where the major problem occurred. If an editor collects together a list of food of RSS and or contents which moves simply to more Web sites and inserts this type of information on the Web page, this editor is in the violation of the limits of the service for the program of Adsense de Google. This means that if editor employs the reinforced contents, contents that to resemble them him came from a list of Search Engine, they should immediately remove the blocks of Adsense of these pages or they will most probably lose their account of Adsense. Recently, Google decided not with the blocks of Adsense in the pages of compression which are created in order to collect the email address, the pages which are employed to collect sales of subsidiary company, by using Adwords to lead the traffic to the Web pages with Adsense (arbitration of Adsense) and Web sites or letters of only one page of sales. These types of the activities or Web pages should not have blocks of Adsense on them. To see the limits of Google Adsense of the service the information discussed in this article covers some of the more common violations of the limits of programs of Adsense of the service. However, if you visit the site of Google Adsense, you will find a bond with the policies of program of Adsense. That would be a good idea to take time to look above these policies to ensure that you accidentally do not violate the limits of the service, simply because you were known as or perhaps you are informed in a certain manner of making the money fast with the program of Adsense, which in fact will obtain to you prohibited or removed program.

That was the reason why selecting the right keyword requires in writing your article.

Your marketing articles success rely on the keyword that you used, and it is the most important factor to consider. So why it is that keyword is important, because keyword is the phrase which your viewers usually search on many search engines like Yahoo, Google etc. Therefore when you are constructing an article just for promoting something or promotion, you need to be more particular on what keyword you want to target. For instance, assuming that you have a website that focus on webhosting, you have to think about constructing an article or a few articles which is related to web hosting, or something related to that. However, your must be after on the keyword that you are always targeting in and which keyword that you are going to use?

And if you want your article to be much better try to use a key phrase for instance, if your target keyword is “web hosting” you must use “cheap web hosting”. In writing an article, the success always relies on to a great scope of the keyword that you use.

Tools like Overture can provide you free information on which keywords have been searched more often by people in the last one day, or one week or even one month. In the above example itself, you can put both ‘debt consolidation loans’ and ‘debt settlement loans’ in the task pane and check.

There are tools that you can use to trace or check which keyword are most targeted by your viewer, you can use the inventory.overture.com or you can also check here edpudol.com/topsearch/kwtool.php

One of the important factors of the article is the keyword density. So what does this keyword density means, it is the number of times that your keywords appears or shown in a article. For some articles for instance, 256 words is enough but I will prefer to use up to 400 words minimum in one article.

AdSense

Google AdSense, commonly just AdSense, is an ad serving program run by Google. Website owners can enroll in this program to enable text, image and, more recently, video advertisements on their sites. These ads are administered by Google and generate revenue on either a per-click or per-thousand-impressions basis. Google is also currently beta-testing a cost-per-action based service.

Overview

Google uses its search technology to serve ads based on website content, the user's geographical location, and other factors. Those wanting to advertise with Google's targeted ad system may sign up through AdWords. AdSense has become a popular method of placing advertising on a website because the ads are less intrusive than most banners, and the content of the ads is often relevant to the website.

Currently, AdSense uses JavaScript code to incorporate the advertisements into a participating site. If it is included on a site which has not yet been crawled by the Mediabot, it will temporarily display advertisements for charitable causes known as public service announcements (PSAs). (The Mediabot is a separate crawler from the Googlebot that maintains Google's search index.)

Many sites use AdSense to monetize their content. AdSense has been particularly important for delivering advertising revenue to small sites that do not have the resources for developing advertising sales programs and salespeople. To fill a site with ads that are relevant to the topics discussed, webmasters implement a brief script on the sites' pages. Sites that are content rich have been very successful with this advertising program, as noted in a number of publisher case studies on the AdSense site.

Some webmasters work hard to maximize their own AdSense income. They do this in three ways:

1. They use a wide range of traffic generating techniques including but not limited to online advertising.

2. They build valuable content on their sites which attracts AdSense ads which pay out the most when they get clicked.

3. They use copy on their websites that encourage clicks on ads. Note that Google prohibits people from using phrases like "Click on my AdSense ads" to increase click rates. Phrases accepted are "Sponsored Links" and "Advertisements".

The source of all AdSense income is the AdWords program which in turn has a complex pricing model based on a Vickrey second price auction, in that it commands an advertiser to submit a sealed bid (not observable by competitors). Additionally, for any given click received, advertisers only pay one bid increment above the second-highest bid.

History

The underlying technology behind AdSense was derived originally from WordNet, Simpli (a company started by the founder of Wordnet, George A. Miller) and a number of professors and graduate students from Brown University, including James A. Anderson, Jeff Stibel and Steve Reiss. A variation of this technology utilizing Wordnet was developed by Oingo, a small search engine company based in Santa Monica founded in 1998. Oingo changed its name to Applied Semantics in 2001, which was then bought by Google for $102 million in April 2003.

AdSense for feeds

In May 2005, Google announced a limited-participation beta version of AdSense for feeds, a version of AdSense that runs on RSS and Atom feeds that have more than 100 active subscribers. According to the Official Google Blog, "advertisers have their ads placed in the most appropriate feed articles; publishers are paid for their original content; readers see relevant advertising — and in the long run, more quality feeds to choose from".

AdSense for feeds works by inserting images into a feed. When the image is displayed by the reader/browser, Google writes the ad content into the image that it returns. The ad content is chosen based on the content of the feed surrounding the image. When the user clicks the image, he or she is redirected to the advertiser's site in the same way as regular AdSense ads.

AdSense for feeds has remained in its beta state ever since its original announcement. Only selected AdSense users have been allowed to sign up for it, and no more users are being admitted to the program.

AdSense for search

A companion to the regular AdSense program, AdSense for search lets website owners place Google search boxes on their pages. When a user searches the web or the site with the search box, Google shares any ad revenue it makes from those searches with the site owner. However the publisher is paid only if the ads on the page are clicked: Adsense does not pay publishers for mere searches.

AdSense for Mobile Content

AdSense for mobile content allows publishers to generate earnings from their mobile webpages using targeted Google ads. Just like AdSense for content, with AdSense for mobile content Google matches ads to the content of your site -- in this case, your mobile website.

How AdSense works

In order to put ads on a web page, the webmaster inserts JavaScript code into the page.

Each time a page with an AdSense tag is visited, the JavaScript creates an iframe and sets its "src" attribute to the page's URL.

For contextual advertisements, Google's servers use a cache of the page to determine a set of high-value keywords. If keywords have been cached already, ads are served for those keywords based on the AdWords bidding system. More details are described in the AdSense patent.

For site-targeted ads, the advertiser chooses the page(s) to display ads on and pays based on CPM (cost-per-thousand-impressions, or the price advertisers choose to pay for every thousand ads displayed).

For referrals, Google adds money to the advertiser's account when visitors either download the referred software or subscribe to the referred service.

Search ads are added to the list of results after a user preforms a search.

Since the JavaScript is sent to the web browser when the page is requested, it is possible for other site owners to copy the JavaScript into their own web pages. To protect against this type of fraud, AdSense customers can specify the pages on which ads should be shown. AdSense then ignores clicks from pages other than those specified.

Abuse

Some webmasters create sites tailored to lure searchers from Google and other engines onto their AdSense site to make money from clicks. These "zombie" sites often contain nothing but a large amount of interconnected, automated content (e.g.: A directory with content from the Open Directory Project, or scraper sites relying on RSS feeds for content). Possibly the most popular form of such "AdSense farms" are splogs ("spam blogs"), which are centered around known high-paying keywords. Many of these sites use content from other web sites, such as Wikipedia, to attract visitors. These and related approaches are considered to be search engine spam and can be reported to Google.

MFA (Made For AdSense) is a site or page with little or no content, but filled with advertisements so users have no choice but to click on ads. Such pages were tolerated in the past, but due to complaints Google now disables such accounts.

There have also been reports of Trojans engineered to produce fake Google ads that are formatted to look like legitimate ones. The Trojan Horse apparently downloads itself onto an unsuspecting computer through a web page and then replaces the original ads with its own set of malicious ads.

Criticism

Due to concerns about click-fraud, Google AdSense has been criticized by some search engine optimization firms as a large source of what Google calls "invalid clicks" in which one company clicks on a rival's search engine ads to drive up its costs. Some publishers that have been blocked by Google complain that little justification or transparency was provided. Webmasters who publish AdSense can receive a lifelong ban without justification.[citation needed] Google claims they cannot "disclose any specific details" on fraudulent clicks since it may reveal the nature of their proprietary click-fraud monitoring system.

To help prevent click-fraud, AdSense publishers can choose from a number of click-tracking programs. These programs will display detailed information about the visitors who click on the AdSense advertisements. Publishers can use this to determine if they have been a victim of click-fraud or not. There are a number of commercial tracking scripts available for purchase.

The payment terms for webmasters have also been criticized. Google withholds payment until an account reaches US$100, but many small content providers require a long time – years in many cases – to build up this much AdSense revenue. These pending payments are recorded on Google's balance sheet as "accrued revenue share". At the close of its 2006 fiscal year, the sum of all these small debts amounted to a little over $370 million, cash that Google is able to invest but which effectively belongs to webmasters. However, Google will pay all earned revenue greater than $10 when the AdSense account is closed.

Google recently came under fire when the official Google AdSense Blog showcased the French video site Imineo.com. This site clearly violates Google's AdSense Program Policies by displaying AdSense alongside explicit adult content. Typically, sites displaying AdSense have been banned from showing adult content.

In addition, Google has been criticized for claiming that they created, or had a bigger part in creating, AdSense than they really did. Most recently, Gokul Rajaram claiming he was the "godfather" of AdSense caused some controversy. Another Google employee who took credit for AdSense was Susan Wojcicki.

Top Five Must-Have WordPress Plugins

In the wonderful world of WordPress, it is essential that bloggers stray away from the default settings in order to improve the design and capabilities of their blogs. But where to start? What can you do to improve your blog? There are plugins made, both free and paid, for just about everything imaginable.

I think that the three most basic needs are:

1. Monetization

2. Optimization

3. Navigation

With this in mind, lets try to cover all our bases and find the five best plugins to solve our three basic needs in any WordPress blog.

1. All In One SEO Pack

This plugin is my go-to SEO Optimization tool for WordPress. Other than the built-in "permalink" service, this is really a must have for your website to fare well in Google (and other) search rankings. With the All In One SEO Pack, they enable you to format the titles on every single page, which I see as the most important feature for getting ranked well in searches. Notice how each page on theNetFool.com displays "Article Info | The Net Fool"? You can format your blog like this with All In One!

This plugin goes far beyond merely changing around titles however, you can pretty much change around anything with the meta descriptions of your postings, your selected keywords that show up in search results, and even the ability to "nofollow" posts/pages of your choosing. In order to get your website search engine optimized, you need a tool like All In One SEO... and this one's absolutely FREE :D

2. OIO Publisher

I recently discovered this amazing WordPress plugin that "ads" a whole new functionality to your WordPress blog. Of course, I am talking about OIO Publisher, which allows you to run your own ad service where people can purchase ad slots on your page, pay through PayPal, and see their ads appear automatically! This one will run you a $37 one-time fee, but it is well worth it. It's been called the "ultimate sales platform" for your blog, and it is a lot cheaper than the alternatives which can cost over $100.

Gone are the days when you need to pay other services a percentage of your sales for allowing them to run your ad service. OIO Publisher is a winner in my eyes. The user interface is very easy to understand, and they have an entire marketplace set up that you gain access to once you pay for the plugin. This will allow you to run everything from inline ads and banner ads, to sponsored posts and text links. If you have a digital item to sell, you can use OIO to handle the processing as well. If you are serious about monetizing your blog, buy this plugin.

3. Akismet

There is a reason that this spam-assassin comes with every WordPress installation. Before I was using Akismet, I had by comment moderation setting so that I needed to approve everything that came my way. Gone are the days where this is needed. Akismet is free to use so long as you aren't a major company, and is basically an entire spam network that builds on itself. Whenever spam is recognized on your comments, it is added to the Akismet database and will never bother you again. It has caught over 150 messages since I have started using it, and is a must-have for any serious blogger.

I had the unfortunate experience of being labeled as spam in the past. This definitely does not happen to more than 5% of commenters, but as soon as I sent an email to the moderators at Akismet, they cleared it up for me and I haven't had any problems since :). With this installed, you really don't have to worry about your comments being out of line again!

4. Related Posts

There are several "related post" plugins available for free through WordPress. In my opinion, the best of which is the WASABI Related Entries plugin. This is really a must-have option for your blogs. Not only does it look great and encourage your readers to stay on your website, but it acts as a great SEO tool by linking together your website for easier indexing! Again, there are tons of clones claiming to be the original and the best. I don't really know enough to say which was the first, but I think the WASABI-version is the most functional so I encourage you to check it out first!

Having a related posts option is definitely a nice addition to any blog site. If you don't already have one up and running, I suggest getting on and sticking it either underneath your content (and above comments), or somewhere on your sidebar. This one's a winner!

5. Subscribe Remind

Don't fall for the over-hype'd paid plugins that claim to boost your subscriptions like crazy, all you really need is this hidden gem Subscribe Remind. You've probably seen this implemented on other popular blogs. What this does is attach a "If you like this post, subscribe to my RSS feed!" text link around all of your blog posts and above your comments. This may seem like a no-brainer, and really, it should be. This small and simple plugin is one of the best ways to increase the amount of subscribers on your blog site.

Following the tactic that is basically "I'm going to annoy the heck out of you until you subscribe," Subscribe Remind really does work. With more and more people on the internet subscribing to RSS news feeds, it is important that you have an easily accessible option for readers to subscribe to your blog feed. Overall, I find it unobtrusive, and a top-notch method to increase your subscriber count :D!

Using these plugins all but guarantees a boost in traffic and subscribers to your blog. By installing and using All In One SEO Pack, OIO Publisher, Akismet, Related Posts, and Subscribe Remind, you will encourage users to subscribe, comment and purchase ads. Not only this, but you will even see better results from search engines! Sure, these tools aren't an end-all cure for a terrible website, but as long as you are an active blogger with an interesting focus... you should be well on your way!

How To Syndicate Your Content With RSS Feeds

RSS stands for Rich Site Syndication. RSS is a powerful tool, and the publishing choice of the future, according to Mike Mograbi, author of 378 Internet Marketing Predictions.

Do Internet Marketers and Publishers Really Need RSS Feeds?

The answer is - YES!

RSS can benefit anyone who wants to promote a website or business online. It's definitely the publishing choice of the future.

Since I started syndicating my content with RSS/XML feeds not only have my listings in the search engines increased, but the increase in traffic has been consistent.

Be warned, however that RSS can use up a lot of bandwidth, so make sure your hosting package allows for this.

How Can RSS Feeds Help Me?

RSS and XML feeds are currently used for the following -

1. RSS for Fresh Website Content

RSS is a technology that allows you to obtain fresh, updated content for your website by pulling it from Newsfeeds and blogs created by experts.

Tools to Add RSS Feeds to your site

ExpressRSS™ is a tool created by my buddy, Satyajeet Hattangadi, that allows you to add RSS Feeds to your site in under a minute without knowing any programming.

Amazingly simple to use and much less expensive than some of the other tools out there. All you do is select your feed, press a button and Voila! your copy-paste code is ready. Also subscribe to the free RSS Riches email course.

Traffic Turbocharger generates entire search engine optimized, niche websites with RSS feeds that provide targeted, keyword rich, fresh content.

RSS Syndicator is a free tool to put auto-updating search engine readable headlines and content on your website.

Blogging Tools and Resources

A blog is an online journal or diary to which you can add short posts and syndicate your content with a newsfeed.

Blog Maniac - All about blogging, blogging tools, books, tutorials and more.

2. RSS for Content Syndication and Publishing

RSS is also used by publishers who want to reach readers without having them subscribe to an opt-in email list. Its helps publishers deliver Direct-to-desktop content and is a "Pull" technology (unlike email, which is a "push" technology).

RSS can benefit anyone today. I submit all my RSS feeds and blogs to RSS directories and search engines and am definitely seeing a surge in traffic from them.

Search Engine for MoBlogs
by Loren Baker

Blog Search Engine and IceRocket Search have partnered to bring cell phone pic blogs, or MoBlogs, into the search engine world with a new search feature which produces image results of the latest MoBlogs images available.

Blog Search Engine has over 10,000 blogs indexed in its blog directory and this new feature gives them a jump on other cutting edge search engines in the blogging world. The partnership between the two companies utilizes IceRocket search technology to serve search results from TextAmerica blog entries - a MoBlog only blog hosting service.

While Google and Yahoo are trying to accumulate the largest web image search index, bloggers and site publishers are finding other targets for web search. TextAmerica's MoBlog service offers some of the latest and most rapidly updated images online.

If one is looking for some online pics of a John Kerry or George W. Bush rally, it makes much more sense to search via MoBlogs than 3 month old image search engine indexes.

"IceRocket's MoBlog search technology brings a new dimension to the Blog Search Engine which we never had before, we're a much better blog searching solution now with our new search functionality" said Loren Baker, owner of the Blog Search Engine.

Blake Rhodes, CEO of IceRocket notes "Blog search is incredibly important, sometimes you like to know what other people think besides the traditional media. Besides, MoBlogs are fun, they really let you see what others are up to."

If you've heard of IceRocket before, it's the search engine that Mark Cuban of Broadcast.com fame and the Dallas Mavericks invested in earlier this year. IceRocket has been hailed by many for their approach to pioneering commercial search by putting the interests of wants and consumers before advertisers."

What are MoBlogs?

MoBlog stands for mobile weblog which consists of content posted to the Internet from a mobile or portable device, such as a cellular phone or PDA.

According to Wikipedia, much of the earliest development of moblogs occurred in Japan, among the first countries in the world where camera phones (portable phones with built-in cameras) were widely commercially available.

How to Explode Blog Traffic
by The Coach

Rule #1. Write an article on "how to explode blog traffic!!!"

Rule #2. Read on

To be very frank there are quite a bit of so called tried and tested ways to increase you blog traffic, but these merely focus on increasing hits on your blog, but do not focus on the main reason why you want more traffic viz. to read what you write and keep coming back for more.

Sites such as Blogexplosion.com do deliver on their hits, but sadly most of these hits stay for a maximum of 30 secs only, after which they click on the next blog to increase their traffic. That brings us back to the topic, What can really be done? Is there a way out? How do i make myself heard above the din?

Well, here are some tips for starters.

1. Write. Write stuff. Write stuff people like to read. Most often blogs end up being abused by people who think the world is waiting to know what happens to them every second (I don't deny them this right...they have it!), however the same thing can be presented in a way that forces the reader to continue reading. Simple check! read as though you didn't write it. Funny? worth posting? go ahead post.

2. Make friends. I don't mean going around shaking hands with people and expect a sudden spurt in your traffic, instead post reciprocal links on your blog. Yes people do read others links and if you are there, people will visit your blog. Its an easy way to piggyback on some good blogs.

3. Articles!!!! Take some of your posts, tweak them a bit, add a snazzy caption and Presto! you have your own article ready. Now take that article and post it all around you (on the net please....i don't expect people to walk around with faces stuck with paper muffling away....thish is smy aaarticle!). There are quite a list of websites that do this.

4. Check your Site title and description (I think this should have come in second in order....lets just forget the order for now)Get a cool title something that makes people go, "oooohh thats hhhhhhooooootttttttt" (if not that much atleast.......a "i think this might be interesting"). And remember to give a matching description (the funnier the better). This will also help you get better results on search engines.

5. Submit to Blog Search engines. Most people search for blogs not on the major search engines, but on blog search engines. So make sure your blog has been submitted to these engines. The more the merrier. Search on google for blog search engines and submit your blog to all of these.

6. PHOTOS ROCK!!!! Face it, most people do search blogs to see something interesting and what best but a photo to give them a 24million color view of something. Yes photos rock, and they do bring in traffic. It kinda gives a coolness to your site. Its like wearing colors while everyone else is in uniform. Most blogging providers support photoblogging, but if you need a place to host photos photobucket.com is a place as good as any.

7. Get original! Showing others content may bring people to your site, but it would not make them stay. all they would say is . ...."another smartass trying to keep his blog updated by somebody else's work". So keep the blog original with what you would like to say.

8. Publicize!!! I am not talking about banner exchanges ( not only do give free advertising on your site, you also have to put up with ugly graphics that can be out of place on your beautiful site.) Think up creative ways. Get a bumper sticker on your car, your boss's car, your company delivery truck...the works. Another easier option, get it on your company's email signature or atleast on yours.

9. Evangelize!!! No i am not a religious nut and i'm not expecting you to be one. Write stuff that would make people go on and talk about you without you threatening them or paying them. And refer to "the blog" in common discussions, parties etc.... wherever you find people.

10. Ok so you got so far.......on more important thing. Don't expect to find any of the above on my blog, the only reason being, i don't need to explode my blog traffic !!!!

Search Engine Optimization For Blogs
by Priya Shah

Blogging software is really a simple Content Management System (CMS) that easily adds new pages and integrates them into your site's navigational structure and linkage.

Blogs and blog posts are naturally search engine friendly because they are text-rich, link-rich, frequently-updated webpages that use stylesheets or CSS, and have very little extraneous HTML.

Optimizing a blog is very similar to optimizing a website, and optimizing a blog post similar to optimizing a web page.

But depending on the blogging service or software you use, the results may look somewhat different.

If you follow some simple rules for search engine optimization, your blog can rank much higher than static website pages in the search engine results pages.

Here are the most important rules to follow to get your posts listed for keywords of your choice.

1. Use your primary keyword in your blog domain

Whether you purchase a separate domain (recommended) for your blog, or host it on a blogging service or a subdomain of your own site, try to ensure that your URL contains the primary keyword you want to optimize for.

For example, if you want your blog to get found for the keyword "rss" get a domain with the keyword "rss", or use the keyword in a subdomain as in

http://ebizwhiz-publishing.com/rssnews

Getting a domain name with your own name might make for good branding, especially if yours is a personal blog.

But if you're doing it for business and want the targeted traffic to flow your way, keywords in the domain or subdomain are a move in the right direction.

2. Use your primary key phrase in your blog header tags and the title of your posts

If your primary key phrase is "business blogging" make sure that the word business, or blogging, or both, appear in your blog headers (the H1 or H2 tags) as well as the title of each of your posts.

Most blogging software will take the keywords in your post title and put them into the file name of the permalink posts it creates.

For example, if you have a blog on Blogger and title your post "Search Engine Optimization For Blogs", Blogger will automatically create a page with your post and name the file "search-engine-optimization-for-blogs.html" or something similar.

With other server-side software like Wordpress and Movable Type, you may require the mod_rewrite command to save the title of your entries as a permalink.

3. Use your secondary keywords in the body of your post

If you want to get listed for secondary keywords use them infrequently in the body of your post and pepper your blog titles or links with them appropriately.

Don't overdo this or your posts will end up sounding unnatural and spammy to readers.

4. Use your keywords in the anchor text of links

Keyword in links have more importance than simple text.

Use your primary and secondary keywords in the anchor text of links when linking to other blog posts or to other pages on your main site.

Link keywords where they naturally appear in the body text, but again, don't overdo it, or you'll end up with spammy looking pages.

5. Make sure search engines can spider your blog easily

Set up your blog so that the side navigation bar is present on all pages.
Make sure your archives and previous posts are accessible from all pages of your blog so they get spidered easily.

6. Get backlinks from other blogs or websites

Links pointing to your blog or posts are essential to build pagerank and make your blog rank higher in the search engine listings.

I've seen many people recommend Blogrolling as one method of building links to your blog.

BlogRolling is a one-stop linklist manager for your blog or journal. But all this service actually does is give
you a bit of javascript code that "calls" the links.

As far as search engine rankings go, this method of linking is of little use, because spiders can't read external javascript code.

Instead I recommend that you focus your linking efforts on the methods here.

Submitting to Blog Search Engines and Directories:

Submitting your blog and RSS feed to blog search engines and directories is essential for getting high-quality links back to your blog.

Here is the best list I've found of places to submit your feed or blog.

Best Blog Directory And RSS Submission Sites

Link Exchanges:

Many similarly-themed blogs are often willing to exchange links with other blogs and form richly interlinked networks or communities. Link exchanges with other blogs are easy to implement with most blogging software.

Trackbacks:

You can also get links back to your blog using trackbacks. One of the disadvantages of using Blogger is that it does not automatically create trackback urls that others can use to link back to your posts.

Haloscan is a free service that will automatically add comments and trackbacks to your Blogger blog.

But if trackbacks are an important component of your linking strategy, I would advise using another software or system that adds this feature automatically.

Comments:

You can also get back links to your blog by posting legitimate comments in response to posts on other blogs.

7. Update frequently

There's no better food for search engine spiders than fresh content.

Post and update your blog frequently using all the rules outlined above and there's no reason why your blog will not get you top rankings in a short period of time.

8. Stay put

Once you create your blog, try to stick to the same domain and blog host or system for as long as you continue to publish.

You could end up losing a lot of your traffic, your readers and all your search engine listings if you decide to move.

How To Build Traffic To Your Blog
by Priya Shah

With the growing interest in blogging as a means of online promotion and branding, a lot of marketers are starting blogs to promote their opinions, products, books and services.

But a blog is like a website. "Write and they will come" isn't exactly a magic formula to bring in traffic by the boatload.

If you need to promote your website in order to build traffic to it, you need to promote your blog as well.

Here are some ways you can become a well-read and influential blogger.

1. Write Posts That People Will Want To Read

This should be common sense, but many marketers tend to forget that their readers are real people and that you need to use the principles of online copywriting to make your headlines and copy interesting to your readers.

If you write posts that people enjoy reading, they will reward you by returning to your blog regularly.

Make your posts conversational, pithy and topical. Keep them short and stick to one topic per post.

Write often and regularly so that both readers and search engines visit your blog more often.

2. Optimize Your Posts for Search Engines

I cover this topic in detail in my article on "Search Engine Optimization For Blogs"

But here are the most important rules to follow to get your posts listed for keywords of your choice.

 Make sure your blog URL contains the primary keyword you want to optimize for

 Use your primary keywords in the title of your post

 Use your secondary keywords in the body of your post

 Use your keywords in the anchor text of links in the body of your posts

3. Submit Your Blog and RSS Feed To Directories

If you publish a blog you should submit your blog and RSS feed to big directories like Yahoo and Dmoz, as well as the numerous blog directories and search engines.

Here is the best list I've found of places to submit your feed or blog, compiled by Luigi Canali De Rossi, who writes under the pseudonym Robin Good.

Best Blog Directory And RSS Submission Sites

Another list of sites to submit your Blog

4. Ping The Blog Services

There are a number of services designed specifically for tracking and connecting blogs. By sending a small ping to each service you let them know you've updated your blog so they can come check you out.

Bookmark the Ping-O-Matic ping results page so you can visit it and quickly ping a number of services with a single click.

5. Build Links To Your Blog

I recommend the methods here as the best ways to get links pointing to your blog.

 Link to your blog from each page on your main website

 Trackback to other blogs in your posts

 Post legitimate comments on other blogs with related topics

 Offer to exchange links with other similarly themed blogs and websites

6. Edit Your Blog Posts Into Articles

One of the best methods for promoting your website is to write articles and submit them to article directories.

The suggestion for extending this to edit your blog posts into articles and submit them to directories came from the coach at "Explode Blog Traffic" who also has other noteworthy suggestions at his blog.

You'll find an extensive list of article directories here

7. Create Buzz About Your Blog

Creating a buzz about your blog posts and topic in the local and online media will give your marketing a viral component.

 Create a controversy around your blog or it's topic.

 Distribute bumper stickers or other merchandise with your blog's URL and tagline.

 Write a press release about something newsworthy and tie it in with your blog topic.

8. Capture Subscribers By Email

It may seem strange for a blogger to send out updates by email, but email is still the #1 choice of most people who want to receive news and information.

Using a free service like Bloglet to manage your subscriptions is easy and it allows your subscribers to manage all their subscriptions from one interface.

However, if you want more control over your list and don't mind mailing out the updates yourself, you can use an autoresponder system to capture and follow-up with subscribers.

RSS Responder is a new script that allows you to keep in touch and follow-up with your subscribers without the hassle of email.

These tips should give you a good start to building your blog traffic.

Increase Traffic to Your Blog from Search Engines - The Top 5 Tips
By Tinu Abayomi Paul

Your favorite thing about having a blog may soon be this - they naturally attract search engine traffic.

Blogs already have optimized site architecture. Most are set up with a clear navigation, where every page is set up to link back to the other main pages.

They also have the inherent potential to be well-linked.

If you haven't already submitted to blog directories, you are missing out on some great one-way links. Many of the top directories can be found on Robin Good's Top 55 list at MasterNewMedia.org.

But before you head over there and start submitting, you should know a little about how to optimize your blog. Then your new listings can help your site get the best keyword placement in the major search engines.

These are my top five tips for lucrative blog search engine optimization.

Lucrative Blog SEO Tip #1: Lucrative Keyword Choices

You have a choice. You can target a general high traffic keyword you have little chance of ranking well for and get barely any traffic.

Or you can shoot for a keyword that gets a moderate level of targeted traffic resulting in more subscribers and sales. I like to call this a "lucrative keyword".

Whatever you call them, here's the most important thing: They may not get you the most traffic, but they often bring the most profit.

You may be surprised to learn that there isn't always a correlation between high traffic and high sales. Many of the most profitable sites in the world get moderate traffic because their lucrative keywords result in a much higher ratio of visitors to buyers.

A recent article in Information Week stated that the highest conversion rates from search engine traffic comes from people who do four word queries.

The great thing about your blog is that it can get so well-indexed that you have the potential to show up for any number of four word phrases that are relevant to your industry.

It isn't just the four word phrases that get converting traffic - there are two and three word phrases that can bring you traffic and sales.

Targeting your blog discussion to a two or three word phrase that has a high yield of traffic, and yet has little competition, is not a dream of past Internet days. Another recent study revealed that surprisingly high percentages of search engine queries debuted as late as 2004.

As long as there are new developments, new products, services and trends, you'll never have a shortage of these terms if you learn how to discover them.

Lucrative Blog SEO Tip #2: Keyword Placement

Your blog can be set up to repeat the keywords that you want to target just enough times to establish a theme.

You can take full advantage of this in your post titles, your category names, the pages URL names, or even a combination of Technorati tags and the text of your permanent links that appear after each post.

Lucrative Blog SEO Tip #3: Timely Posting

Instead of pinging at 15 minute intervals when your site hasn't been updated, or even pinging after every single post, you can actually get better results if you update or ping just once during one of three sweet spots in the day. Here's one that you can use today.

Check your web site statistics. If you're getting spidered every two weeks or even monthly, you can increase your number of spider visits by blogging on the anniversary of the period that the spider comes to your site. It takes a bit of monitoring, but you can often predict when the date of your last spider visit was.

An even faster way is to ping at a time when the spider is reading a page that carries your update. (This is a little harder to explain, as I've mentioned, but I have a resource that explains this process in-depth at my site.)

Lucrative Blog SEO Tip #4: Get Linked

Turn on your site feed(s) and use them to promote your blog. Robin Good's guide can get you some great one way links.

If you sparingly include the lucrative keyword you selected in tip two in your title and description, all those link backs will contain the keyword term you most want attention for, which is often noted by the spiders as they follow the link through to your site.

Once there, if you use these and other tips to skew your blog a little more to the search-engine-friendly side, the synergistic effect is better, more profitable traffic.

Lucrative Blog SEO Tip #4: Frequent Updates

The more you post, the more food for the spider, which can cause the spider to react by splitting up its job into several visits, whereupon you have even more content, and so on, until the spider just adds you to a more frequent schedule of returns.

For example, my main site gets spidered several times daily by Google, and yet I can go a week without an update with no change in spider visits. This means my pages get indexed more often and my new pages show up faster.

Think of what that could do for the launch of your next product. You'll be happy to know that you don't have to slave over long blog posts several times a day, all day long to get similar results from your blog. In fact, some blog software will let you set up your posts in advance, so that you can have posts show up daily even though you technically only blog once a month.

Bottom line: A few small changes to your blog can draw more search engine traffic without turning off your blog visitors. Done properly, this gives your audience more of what they were searching for in the first place.

Article Marketing For Bloggers - 4 Tips To Build Traffic For Your Blog
By Christopher Knight

Bloggers blog. That’s what they do. A blog is short for ‘weblog’ and it’s really an online journal that can be updated easily and frequently without any knowledge of HTML code.

Traditionally, article marketing has been used by authors who are promoting their books or information products. Lately, I’ve noticed a growing trend of bloggers using article marketing to grow the traffic to their blog and you should too.

Three reasons why it makes sense for bloggers to engage in article marketing:

1) You’ve already got a lot of content produced in each of your blog posts. 200 words should be your floor for each article that you produce. In some cases, you already have enough words per post to create 10-50 articles instantly. If you don’t, then stitch posts together of a similar theme until you have 200+ word articles to put into article marketing distribution.

2) A blogger has the same traffic building problems that any typical website has, and therefore article marketing can help your blog in the same ways it can help a non-blog website.

Benefits include qualified traffic coming to your site year round, quality backlinks being built without any messy recip-linking campaigns, and you’re expanding your reach to other experts that might not otherwise have found your blog.

3) Bloggers by nature are more Internet savvy than your typical author. With this said, most bloggers already understand how to create revenue with pay per click (PPC) advertising programs.

As such, you already know how to produce keyword intelligent titles for their articles. This guarantees maximum traffic impact for each of your articles.

If you are already a blogger and are new to article marketing, here’s how you get started:

1) Produce a cache of 10-25+ articles from your existing blog content.

2) Submit them to the major article directories and any that are niche-relevant to your field of expertise. You may also wish to submit them to ezine publishers directly from your niche.

3) Rinse and repeat until you have 250-1,000+ articles in distribution this year. Hire a college student or editor if you don’t have time to get this strategy into practice as it’ll be well worth it.

4) Watch your traffic counter slowly rise, day by day as your articles work hard for you delivering qualified traffic to your website year round.

Article Marketing as a strategy will not break your traffic counter on your first month of investing in this strategy… but, I guarantee if you engage in this strategy, your blog will grow in traffic and popularity beyond
the traffic you were already creating by simply blogging.

You knows, you might even increase your sales, land a new job, or improve your rank in the search engines as a side-benefit from your article marketing strategy.

Articles Build Blog Readership
by Wayne Hurlbert

Writing internet articles is a powerful way to add visitor traffic to your blog.

Articles provide tremendous personal and professional benefits as well.

Articles are in demand all over the internet. Many traditional websites want them for additional content, and will seek out the services of a good writer.

If you know your subject matter, you will have no shortage of takers for your writing efforts.

All you have to do is be on topic. In fact, if you want to write articles on almost any subject under the rainbow, all you have to do is contact several of the webmasters in your topic area. They will gladly place your articles prominently on their websites.

The great thing about the articles, is they are usually on subjects, that you write about all the time anyway. You don't need to do extra research, as you already have the knowledge required to a great job, right at your fingertips.

When a website owner publishes your article on the website, be certain to get a live link back to your site. Most website owners will be more than happy to have you provide a brief biography of you, a photograph of your smiling face, and information about your blog and your business.

As you place a number of articles on several websites, you will accomplish more than one goal.

You will obviously receive a few more visitors to your blog, as a result of your incoming link. The extra traffic will be from people who are already interested in your blog's subject matter.

You will establish yourself as an expert in your field, and other people will call upon your ideas and information. The recognition of others, who are interested in the same topics and site themes as yourself, could lead to some paying business in other ways.

The writing credits help to build a writing portfolio, that will serve you well, in the employment market. A series of published articles provides added power to your resume. In a highly competitive job market, the publication history could tip the balance in your favour.

You can also land freelance writing jobs on traditional websites. The ability to write interesting copy, on any topic, is a skill that is constantly in high demand.

Copywriting for sales and marketing, in particular, have an almost unlimited market. Every internet e-commerce website owner, or at least all of the ones that I know, want to increase their overall sales and profits.

If you can write sales and marketing copy, that will increase their sales numbers, you will never be short of writing assignments. You might even have to raise your writing fees.

Your blog will move higher in the search engine rankings. Google in particular, values theme and topic related incoming links. MSN Search and Yahoo also give high marks to incoming links, but to a slightly lesser degree than Google.

In any case, your blog will move higher in the search rankings for your most important keywords, as a result of those links. The end result of higher search engine placement is more visitor traffic for your blog.

Writing articles helps your blog in more ways than one.

It's time to add article writing and sales copywriting to your list of accomplishments.

Your business and your blog will benefit greatly.

Anti Trackback and Comment Spam Methods
by Bobby Masteria

What is spam ?

Spam is text or URL, in one or several exemplars, neither being waited nor wished, not having, neither directly nor from its shipper, no relationship neither with the recipient nor with a possible
resource related to the recipient.

How does spam appears in blogs ?

 Through the comments’ body and commentator’s URL.
 Through trackbacks’ excerpt and permalink’s URL

What are the anti-spam methods?

 Authentication by connection
 CAPTCHA
 Black List
 Bayesian Filter

Other methods to minimize spam :

 Time Interval between submissions / Number of submissions per hour.
 DDD.
 Secure Form Mode : force page and submission to be manual.
 Rank Denial : Directs hyperlinks an intermediary server.
 Autoclose after N days: entry stops accepting comments or trackbacks.

Which data are analyzed by these methods ?

Active methods do analyze the shipper to check if it’s:

 a spamer by coparing its IP address with blacklisted ones.
 authorized by authentication
 a human by CAPTCHA

Passive methods do analyze :

 comment’s data:
 nickname
 eMail address
 URL
 message
 trackback’s data (concerning the shipping blog):
 blog’s name
 entry’s title
 entry’s excerpt
 permalink’s URL

What are the limits to these methods ?

Cross use of several of these methods allows excellent results concerning comments, but weak results concerning trackbacks.

Difference between comments and trackbacks is that comments are sent from the recipient’s blog, which allow all above methods to be used, whereas trackbacks are sent from the shipping blog (this avoids the use and need of 2 interfaces).

 Consequently it’s not possible to use CAPTCHA, authentication and Secure Form Mode methods with trackbacks.

 Another big problem, when all the trackback’s data are unknown, especially the IP address, it is quite impossible to avoid spam, mainly because the blacklist and the bayesian filter are becoming inefficient.

 Last inconvenient, trackback autodiscovery is usefull for bookmarklets but also to spamers to who it gives the trackback URL.

Should Bloggers be Helping Google Fix Their PageRank System???

by Linda J Bruton

By now, most bloggers have heard the announcement that the Big 3 search engines - Google, Yahoo, and MSN - have united in support of a new tag that will supposedly combat comment spam. The new tag is a nofollow attribute that can be added to links. When added to links in comment tags, the search engines will ignore them.

An excellent discussion of this new tag and how it works can be found at Danny Sullivan's Search Engine Watch

At first blush, anything that can help cut down the comment spam that most bloggers are daily subjected to would seem to be a good thing. It can be pretty upsetting to access your blog in the morning and find 50 junk comments with links to casino, adult, and pharmacy sites. If your blog has any PageRank, you can expect to find more of this garbage polluting your site every day. Fighting the spread of comment spam has become a necessity.

But after first cheering the proactiveness of the search engines, many bloggers have stepped back and taken a closer look and they don't like what they see. You can read a sampling of their thoughts at Search Engine Watch Forum

Brian Turner's incisive article "New Nofollow Tag Cheers Bloggers but Fails Blogs" discusses some of the potential abuses of the new nofollow tag

And Jim Pryke's article "Bloggers Cheer Google As Their Search Rankings Plummet" makes it very clear that not only will this NOT stop comment spam. But it will actually hurt bloggers as a community.

For an hilarious take on the new tag and how it will get abused, be sure to take a look at Link Condom

I have to agree with these bloggers that the nofollow tag won't even put a dent in the problem of comment spam. You have to realize that the comment spammers who cause the most problems are the ones who use automated bots to spread their spam onto every blog they find.

The fact that they find a blog using the nofollow tag won't stop the bot from posting. If you have a popular blog, you'll still wake up every morning to find 50 casino/pharmacy/adult ads on your blog. You'll still have to spend the time deleting those posts to clean up your blog.

You see, the problem to bloggers isn't that those comment links pass PR. It's the fact that those spam posts make your blog look like garbage. Whether the links pass PR or not isn't the big issue for bloggers. It's the time it takes to get rid of unwanted comments and the detraction to their sites. The nofollow tag won't do a thing about that problem. You'll still have the problems, even if you use the tag.

Think about this: how effective have email filters been in stopping email spam? As most of us know, they've hardly done any good at all. Email spam becomes a bigger problem every day. Spammers really don't care if some of their emails are blocked. They just send more of it to compensate. The same will be true of the automated comment spam bots.

The fact of the matter is, there are already much better tools in most blogging software to fight comment spam AND save the time and effort of the blogger at the same time.

There are already a number of plugins for WordPress, Moveable Type, and other blogs. There will undoubtedly be more in the future. These tools are already more effective at fighting comment spam than this nofollow tag will ever be.

What is unfortunate is that the people the nofollow tag will really hurt is bloggers themselves. Traditionally, bloggers have read and commented in each other's blogs. And these comments have added value.

When I write an article for my blog, I love it when other bloggers take the time to add their insights on the topic I'm discussing. These comments add content to my site and continue the discussion.

This is one of the reasons blogs are so easy to grow into topic-specific information-rich sites that are popular with readers. Unlike static sites, they offer two-way communication between reader and blogger. They become communities.

When someone adds this kind of value to my blog, I am more than happy to give them a link to their blog that passes PR. That will help them build the readership of their own blog, grow the community even larger, and add to the richness of the discussion. These are exactly the kinds of links that any webmaster should want on their site!

Adding a nofollow tag to comments can only quash this discussion. It can only discourage commenters with the most to contribute from taking the time to add to the discussion.

After all, if the time I spend on another blog doesn't contribute to the growth of the blogging community as a whole or aid in the visibility of my own blog, am I going to spend as much time and effort doing it?

Anything that decreases the open flow of discussion currently enjoyed in the blogging community is a bad deal for bloggers.

The question that should be asked is this: why is comment spam so profitable? After all, if it weren't profitable, so many people wouldn't be going to such ridiculous lengths to do it.

The answer to this is obviously Google's link-heavy PageRank algorithm that forces webmasters to get every link they can to get their site's indexed and ranked. Most webmasters know that in order to get ranked in Google, they had better have a ton of links to their site.

That's the problem with PageRank as an algorithm. It encourages artificial linking between sites that no longer has any relevance whatsoever to the goal of providing good resources to visitors.

Do we really believe that most reciprocal link directories provide a resource to our visitors? Not likely! If websites are real estate, reciprocal link directories are the slums, the seedy bars and tattoo parlors on the edges of polite society.

Whole businesses have sprung up as a reaction to PageRank. I'm talking about the link auction and link selling sites. Under the PageRank system, sites aren't being ranked by who provides the best content, but by who has the deepest pockets to buy the most links. Or, in the case of comment spammers, whoever wants to spread their bots all over the internet spamming blogs.

This system has over time totally skewed the natural linking between sites that once dominated the internet - the very thing that Google's PageRank system is supposed to reward.

Ironically, blogs are one of the few places left on the web where linking is actually about providing good content to visitors and rewarding value provided on other sites.

Bloggers as a group are the most likely to link to sites because of the content value to their visitors. Their links are very likely to be very topic specific. You don't find that on other sites.

These are the kinds of links that I would assume Google would want to encourage through their PageRank system, not those junky reciprocal link directories or purchased links.

It would seem to me that the only effective way to cut down on comment spam and all the artificial linking techniques Google purportedly wants to thwart is not by making life harder for bloggers - the very people who link in the most relevant fashion.

But at taking a second look at their own PageRank system and whether it is really serving the usefulness of their own search engine and the whole web in 2005.For more tips and ideas on how to make money blogging, be sure to visit my "Why Marketers Should Blog" weblog at (what else) http://www.WhyMarketersShouldBlog.com
